Ella Bakes for the Cure
Hi. My name is Ella and I am in sixth grade. I believe cookies and cupcakes can cure cancer. I have participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for four years. My involvement started with a service project assigned by my 2nd grade teacher when I hosted a bake sale to raise funds for my mom’s race team. The next year, my friends and I cooked up a plan for Bake for the Cure bake sales and registered for our own Race for the Cure team to honor family members who have been impacted by breast cancer. Every year since, we put on our pink tutus and walk together with our family and friends at Race for the Cure. Our treats have also been featured as an auction item at SGK’s annual Grace Notes Gala. We have raised over $40,000 together to help fund a cure for breast cancer and were even featured on the King 5 news! http://www.king5.com/news/local/race-for-the-cure-11-year-old-bakers-raise-thousands-to-fight-breast-cancer/445315668
We usually host bake sales for our race team from April through June. However, we have been asked if we can make our treats available during the year for parties, events or just because they are delicious.
Make a donation of $50 (half dozen treat box) or more ($100+ for a dozen+ treat box) and we will deliver a box of treats on a mutually agreed upon date/time. Need more than one dozen treats? Get in touch and we can work out the details. You can also make a donation with no treats involved. :-)
