Join Me in the Fight Against Breast Cancer
We are pleased to announce that the Breast-Cancer fund-raising event “Kicking for Cancer 2018” will be taking place on two dates this year – October 13th and 20th
“Kicking for Cancer” was started by Van Berman who is a 8th grader at Centennial Middle School in Snohomish WA – his idea was to use his talent of kicking field goals during two selected games to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Van Collected pledges per kick that he and his team put through the uprights during the games. Last year he raised over $10,000 making an unheard of 12 kicks during the two games.
This year, Van and his team, Snohomish Panthers Bantam Red, have expanded the event to two games – one home and one away game.
The games chosen are both during the October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pledges can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
Game one will be October 13th at Oak Harbor Fort Nugent Park vs The Oak Harbor Wildcats – at 3:00 pm
Game two will be a home game October 20th at Snohomish Veterans Memorial Stadium (Snohomish High School) vs The Mariner Marauders at 1:00 pm
The Panthers Senior Red are the 13 year old division of the Snohomish Panthers Jr Football Association. They compete in the North Sound Jr Football League (https://www.northsoundjrfootball.org)
100 percent of the Kicking for Cancer proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen Puget Sound’s fight against breast cancer. Founded by local volunteers in 1993, Komen Puget Sound has given more than $30 million to fund breast cancer screenings, patient support and medical research to find a cure, helping tens of thousands of local, low-income women receive services critical to early detection and survival. Let’s all step up and help the Panthers Kick Cancer
